The history of this day is as amazing as the name implies. This is the day that was originated back in 1995 by John Baur (Ol’ Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap’n Slappy). They wanted to come up with such a day that brings everyone on earth to pose as if they have become pirates belonging to some ship or sea travel.

This day is a result of the outburst of the pain which came from the racket ball game back then. There are now websites developed across the internet that spread funky messages and texts as how to celebrate the day.

This day is all about fun, funk and holiday streaming that deals with the changing lifestyles and funny hats that are being imitated by the pirates of the sea. Fan pages of pirates are present on facebook, flickr, myspace and twitter. Here all the pirates talk about common interests and plan weekend ahead.

Also, songs have been composed and written about this day. Tom Smith is one of pioneers of song composers in this field. Other than this, there are iphone applications and milk brands that say c’mon talk like a pirate now and celebrate.
