Relief Agriculture Sector Budget 2012-13
Agricultural sector has been given a exceptional value in the Pakistan Federal Budget 2012 – 2013. Let us view the details of agricultural sector of the economic budget.
It has been proposed to reduce the tariff lines on agricultural sector. The custom duty on phosphatic fertilizers has already been removed. While the 5% duty on Urea fertilizers will also be removed because of the increase in demand.
Because of agricultural developmental the demand for tractors is also increasing but the domestic production is not sufficient. It has been decided to reduce the custom duty on imports of tractors from 20% to 15%. For agricultural development sector it has been decided to remove duty on imports of further bulldozers, graders and levelers.
It will give a great benefit to the farmers of arid regions. Moreover, there has been made maximum reduction on the duties of certain components used in poultry feeds. This will made large impact on the prices of poultry as it will benefit the poultry industry and as a result they will decrease the rates of poultry.
On reaching the conclusion it would not be wrong to say that Pakistan is an agro-base country so appropriate policies should be introduce for agricultural sector for their future success in such a way it would not have any impact on protection given to fisheries and diary.
