Health Budget 2012 – 13

Health sector has been given an exceptional value in the budget. Let us view the details of health sector of the economic budget. Health facilities have always given special importance in the budget and they are given at its best.

As compare to previous budget a very small amount was allocated for the health services but in the economic Pakistan Federal Budget 2012 – 2013 huge amount has been specified for the health sector especially among the rural areas. Coverage of preventive measures has been increased from 80% to 90%. Infant mortality rate has been decline from 8.6% to 6.5%.

In the appropriate amount allocated for the health facilities in rural areas the maximum number of hospitals, basic health units, dispensaries and rural health care centers. The total amount reserved for the health is estimated at Rs.137billion during the year 212-2013. Moreover, Mr. Abdul Hafiz Sheikh further says in his speech that wide spread use of ORS both in urban and rural areas should be suggested in order to make the people aware of their responsibility.

At the end it would not be wrong to say that the appropriate amount billed for the health department would definitely help the service man in this department to serve the people at their best. Additionally, suitable measures should be taken against some unknown diseases which are widespread in rural areas.
